ManageIQ is an open source cloud management platform. It implements features like chargeback, governance, security policies, orchestration and self-service on top of various virtualization solutions, private clouds, and public clouds. ManageIQ is the open source project on which the commercial Red Hat CloudForms product is built.
I am very proud to announce that our first-ever ManageIQ user day will be held at the OpenStack summit in Vancouver. We are confirmed for Wednesday May 20th, from 1:50 until 6pm, in Room 1 of the East building.
The meeting room has been kindly provided by the OpenStack foundation, and our demo labs are provided by Ravello Systems. Kudos to both organizations for assisting us with this!

Attendance is free, but since we are hosted at the OpenStack summit you do need a summit pass.
ManageIQ is very relevant to OpenStack as it adds enterprise management capabilities that customers need in order to deploy OpenStack at scale, but that are not provided by OpenStack itself.
Our agenda is as follows:
- 1:50pm - 2:30pm: We will start off with a quick presentation and demonstration of ManageIQ
- 2:40 - 5:10pm: Hands-on lab. You will deploy your first ManageIQ installation, connect it to an already installed OpenStack installation running in Ravello, and create some initial management capabilities such as security policy and a self-service catalog.
During the user day, our worldwide experts on ManageIQ and CloudForms will be in the room to help you with the labs and answer any questions.
If you are planning to roll out OpenStack in an enterprise, but have concerns around enterprise manageability, our user day should be a great way to get to know ManageIQ and see if it fits your needs.
